QUALIFICATIONS:

BhSc Nutrition Bioscience

Certificate 3 & 4 in Personal Training specializing in sport specific movement.

As a Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, I have dedicated the last decade of my career to improving, repairing, and helping individuals aspire to goals they never thought possible. I have worked closely with individuals who:

 - Compete in aesthetic-based sports such as body building. 

- Compete in combat sports such as MMA and Brazilian Jui Jitsu to achieve weight classes.

- Train in endurance and power-based sports.

- Are looking to lose weight and keep it off in a safe and manageable way.

- Are trying to achieve good hormone balance such as during menopause and pregnancy.

- Are wanting to heal their gut and improve their mental well-being to achieve that freedom and comfort.

Each client holds their own unique journey within themselves. Nutrition can be simple and in my professional career I help to educate, guide and encourage my clients to take that first step down the path of unknown wonders and truly learn what good nutrition can do for you.

Personal Experience

From a young age, I struggled with my health, my mental health was in the toilet, I had severe OCD and behaviors problems, I suffered with insomnia, weight issues and body dysmorphia, IBS and skin conditions. 

My parents spent thousands on GP's, psychiatrists and psychologists who could only recommend medications to manage my symptoms. It was a typical story of no one could tell me what the cause was.

Thankfully my parents thought "there has to be something else" and took me to see a Naturopathic Nutritionist who within weeks identified that my diet could be causing all my issues. With some elimination and food changes I slowly improved. After six months my skin had cleared, I was sleeping, losing weight, my mental health stabilized, and my IBS and OCD symptoms vanished. I was a totally different person, and this is where my love of nutrition was born.

In 2011, I started my journey to becoming a qualified Nutritionist and completing my undergraduate in Health Science specializing in Nutrition Bioscience. Then in 2015 I veered into the area of Sports Nutrition to help build my career in combat sports. I was soon named the No 1 no Gi fighter in Australia and went on to win the National Championships in Brazilian Jui Jitsu. I attribute much of my success to understanding how good nutrition can provide you a natural edge over your competition. 

Along this path, I have helped countless clients not only reach their sporting goals through good food but have help improve and heal others quality of life.

My Approach

"It's a little different, but different is what makes the world thrive"

My approach incorporates a variety of factors that are a little different to conventional nutrition. Instead of just focusing solely on food and the overall population recommendations for food intake, I incorporate information based on your genetic information. Evidence has suggest due to the variation in human genetics over time, our gene-diet interactions have been shown to determine cardiometabolic risk factors and influence foods that are more beneficial to certain genotypes. In summary nutrition is not a one size fits all! Nutrition is specific, but it can be simple if you know where to start.

Through evidenced based information, I help you to change your health and allow you to have the freedom and quality that you deserve. As humans, what we require to be healthy is more simple than we think. In modern times we have an abundance of foods at our finger tips which is great for convenience, but not for our health. When one problem is solved, another is created. Today our foods are highly processed and filled with cheap, low quality additives that aren't part of our natural diet. These can lead to interruptions in your hormones, neurotransmitters and damage our gut microbiome. I educate and guide people how to cut it back to basics and keep it simple. Who doesn't want simplicity in their life?
